Home Education offer - SEND Provision

 Transitions College is excited to offer a full online Functional Skills Maths and English course for students who are currently unable to access a physical setting. This includes everything needed to pass such as laptop provided, course content, online exam and full certification. 

This provision is designed to remove barriers to learning, is subsidised by our current funding and enables Local Authorities to meet their statutory duty of providing suitable education for those unable to access mainstream provision for whatever reason or due to their SEND needs.

What’s included in the Home Curriculum Offer:

✅ Online Functional Skills Maths and English courses alongside an online examination 

(Entry Level 3 – Level 2)

• Ofqual regulated course and examination
• Access arrangements available
• Online invigilation provided
• A managed laptop for each student which can be remotely accessed by ICT provider
• College login and email address
• Web filtering & safeguarding measures - monitored by ICT team
• Secure network login:
  ✅ All course materials provided to support accreditation success
  ✅ Past test papers marked by a qualified teacher with instant feedback
  ✅ Weekly safeguarding checks
  ✅ SEND specialist drop-in support for students & parents
• ✅ Progress & attendance tracking reports

• Quality Assurance documents shared with each LA that includes up to date policies, insurances, risk assessments, training certs and registration details.

First of it's kind offer providing online education alongside e-safety monitoring and ofqual regulated invigilation/examination!

Minimum of 12 months required to cover ICT costs / course fees and admin fees.

As a UK-registered Alternative Education training provider, Transitions College has already partnered with several Local Authorities. We have passed quality assurance assessments across the UK and work alongside Ofsted-registered community learning provisions. In December 2024, we welcomed an HMI Ofsted Inspector on behalf of a Local Authority who spent a full day with us and we were part of an amazing team that achieved Good with Outstanding features!
